ted learns the letterpress

after my very enthusiastic recounting of my experience with arounna's letterpress last month, ted decided to come down to toronto with me this weekend to do some himself, while arounna & i worked on repeat. above is arounna teaching ted how everything works.

examining the test prints - john giving ted his opinion on ink colours, and making adjustments on pressure and placement.

here is what he was printing - soup labels for the handicraft hash house. the label is sitting on the plates we had made to print them. I was so surprised with the amount of detail that they were able to give, i thought so much of it would be lost, but it is so beautiful and crisp.
